Eager Pathfinders from the Dove and Agua Pathfinder Clubs, converged at the Petersfield Seventh-day Adventist Church, Petersfield in Westmoreland, celebrating World Pathfinder Day on Sabbath, September 17, 2022.
Members of both clubs participated in the joint church service, which was live streamed via YouTube, on Worship Livestream, the Petersfield church’s weekly online worship program.
Inspired by the day’s theme, ‘Change the World!’, the Pathfinders spent the afternoon visiting and impacting the Westmore Residential Nursing Care, where they sang and prayed with the residents. As part of the impact, toiletries, bottled water, cleaning supplies, and a gift basket, were donated to the nursing home. The nursing home supervisor, Ms Theresa Beckford, accepted the donation, while expressing appreciation for the kind gesture.
Speaking about the visit, Director for the Dove Pathfinder Club, Master Guide Andrea Fletcher said, “We could see the smiles on the faces of the patients, and those who couldn’t sing, hummed, or mumbled the words of the songs. They enjoyed the moments.”
Director for the Agua Club, Master Guide Josephine Vassell, reflecting on the day’s joint activities, was grateful to the host club and church. “The Dove Pathfinder club really made us feel welcome. We just want to thank (them) for inviting us. We have no regrets. We should do this more often.”
A pathfinder from the Agua Club, Syesha Atkinson, who participated in the worship service, added, “The day was awesome! I felt a bit nervous when we started, but it felt like the Lord was just working. The nervousness was gone. I didn’t think about it. I just wanted to work for the Lord, and it felt wonderful!”
“The Pathfinder Day program was a blessing. Overall, the day’s program was a spiritual success,” concluded MG Fletcher.
The Dove and Agua Pathfinder clubs are based at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Petersfield and Roaring River, respectively. World Pathfinder Day is a yearly event held by the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s Adventist Youth Ministries, celebrating and recognizing the impact of Pathfinder clubs on the lives of young people and their local communities.comments powered by Disqus
