We are now in the period of one the most anticipated event of the Jamaica Union, the Mission Project 2019 emphasis, that will climax with a grand convention on February 9. We continue, this week, to share updates from programmes surrounding the initiative and this week we are sharing some highlights from the Copse and Lottery Churches.
We hope that as you read and view you will be inspired to do your part wherever you are in the Conference. Let us continue to pray for the great movement of the Holy Spirit and pray for a tremendous harvest during this period and beyond.
The events below are organized according to the time that they occurred.
The Community Services department of the Anchovy congregation along with District Pastor and a team of medical personnel conducted a special health fair programme at the Anchovy High School, St. James on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. The students, staff members, and administrators welcomed the initiative. More than 200 students and staff members were recipients of the numerous services.
The Lottery congregation was busy on Sunday, January 20, 2019, providing free health checks to members of the Lottery Community at the Amity Hall Community Centre. Approximately 50 persons were beneficiaries of various health checks. A group of medical missionaries under the leadership of Elder ….Edwards were on location to make available checks that included blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI (body mass index) and health age assessment.
The Copse Church on Sunday, December 15, 2018, was engaged in a food distribution drive, prayer walk and literature distribution in their area. 145 Persons were impacted by this kind gesture, some 30 persons were given food packages.
