It was an afternoon of fanfare and laughter as Lloyd and Sheila Dennis received an award from the Inter American Division of Seventh-day Adventists for their outstanding contribution to healthy family life. The couple was honoured by the Division during their 60th Anniversary renewal of vows held at the Paradise Ocean View Guest House, in St. Elizabeth on Sunday, July 29, 2018.
In attendance were various Guests of honour to include His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen, Governor General of Jamaica, Minister of National Security, the Honourable Dr. Horace Chang, Retired Vice President of the Inter American Division, Pastor Leon Wellington, among others.
“I have been asked to bring congratulations on behalf of the Inter American Division of Seventh-day Adventists” said Pastor Leon Wellington, as he delivered heartfelt commendations to the Couple on behalf of the Family Ministries Directors.
“It is not everyone that gets Congratulations on behalf of Inter America, but because of the work you do and have done from way back, your work is appreciated.”
Wellington who spoke highly of the couple from a personal perspective was quick to affirm them for their commitment and dedication to the work of the Lord.
“Special token of appreciation to you Brother and Sister Dennis on your outstanding, healthy, family life example to your biological and church families, as well as to families of the wider society” said Wellington, as he read the message on behalf of the Family Ministries Directors of the IAD.
“Please accept our contribution and gift to you of this plaque from the IAD Family Ministries. Enjoy your anniversary today! We wish you more years of happy togetherness here on this earth and the joys of eternity in the Kingdom of God” ended Wellington as he read.
