Footprints of Hope Health Expo Benefits Community

Scores of medical teams along with members from the Seventh-day Adventist Church associated with the Footprints of Hope Evangelistic Campaign could be seen working assiduously to ensure that health checks were carried out to members of the community during a Health Expo hosted on Sunday, February 24, 2019, on the Crusade grounds. This is the first planned Health Expo spearheaded by the series and compliments the Division-wide focus Mission Project 2019 which has as its theme: Wholistic Health for Personal and National Transformation.


“I am happy that we were able to cater not only for the spiritual needs of the people but also their physical needs” said Nikane Jemison, Health Coordinator for the Crusade. “We want to ensure that the ‘total man’ is maintained. Jesus provided the ultimate example of this in his ministry” she ended.


The campaign focuses on a plethora of needs it aims to impact. Among them are the spiritual, social, psychological and physical needs.


The following is a report of the checks and tests conducted during the Health Expo:

Prostate Checks: 17
Pap Smears: 14
Medicals: 20
Blood Sugar: 40
Blood Pressure: 41

A team of Medical Missionaries was also on location to complement the medical staff. They assisted by conducting body scans, fitness tests, nutrition and other health-related education sessions.
