West Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, successfully hosted Pentecost and More, on Sabbath March 13, 2010, at the West Jamaica Conference Centre, in Mt Salem St. James. The event, which was in its third year running, was celebrated in high spirits, by over three thousand attendants, at the site, and thousands more who viewed the happenings by cable or via internet.
A preliminary count shows that some eight hundred and forty (840) persons were baptized across the West Indies Union territory, with the host conference leading the way with some three hundred and seventy four (374) persons baptized on the day, with one hundred and fifty eight of them baptized at the site of the event. In as much as West Jamaica Conference would have baptized the most on the day of Pentecost and More, consistent with its performance since the inception of the programme, central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, came out ahead for the period January 1, to March 13, 2010, baptizing some eight hundred and three persons during the period, followed by West Jamaica conference with six hundred and seventy two.
