Dr. Douglas Street, a General practitioner and member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, has recently published a book on reducing inflammation, entitled Beyond the Prescription--Reducing Inflammation.
The 156-page work covers the subject of the “chronic and [sometimes] acute” condition of inflammation that has “been actively linked to many challenging diseases and health conditions, humans face,” according to Street.
Dr. Street emphasizes that “Lifestyle diseases can be prevented or corrected if inflammation can be brought under control. This is not something that is very difficult, but it requires a lot of discipline," he noted. He also stated that “this will lessen the burden on personal and institutional health care cost.”
In response to the use of prescribed medication for the treatment of major lifestyle diseases, the book, according to the general practitioner, addresses the proper use of conventional drugs.
"The book does not just focus on lifestyle diseases and natural treatments, but also on the medications that we use and how we can better utilize them in treating these diseases as well," he ended.comments powered by Disqus
