The constituency of West Jamaica Conference covers the parishes of St. James, Hanover, Westmoreland and St Elizabeth. There are 210 churches and companies with a membership of over 64,000.
The Lord says, “Occupy till I come” Luke 19:13. It may be but a few years until our life’s history shall close, but we must occupy till then. Review and Herald, April 21, 1896.
With this in mind, the Office of Development of West Jamaica Conference has as its goal:
- To see to the orderly development and up-keep of all physical plants and associated properties owned by the Church.
- To see to the completion of all church and institution buildings now under construction within the conference.
- To ensure that every church within the conference has a sanitary facility that is representative of the church.
- To address legal matters relating to properties owned by the conference.
A committee for Organizational Building and Evangelism has been established to assist in fulfilling our goals. The objectives of this committee are:
- To provide a specialized avenue through which lay members of the church can be more actively involved in Evangelism and Building aspect of the Organization.
- To mobilize funding for Evangelistic Outreach and building projects within the conference.
- To create an avenue through which lay members can, in a very general and meaningful way, compliment the efforts of the ministerial workers within the conference in fulfilling the mission of the church.
